Websites for Illinois law firms

A law firm website that brings in clients, and never needs your time.

For solo attorneys and small firms across Illinois. Every page designed and written for your practice, kept current whenever you email a change, and owned by you. One monthly fee, nothing up front.

Clients decide about you before they ever call.

They find you on a phone, open your site, and decide almost at once whether you handle their problem. If your website lets you down, the firm down the street gets the call, even when you are the better lawyer.

It is out of date, and you cannot change it.

Last year's fee. The associate who left. Changing anything means finding a login, or a developer who has moved on. With us, you email the change and it is done.

It is slow on a phone.

Most people look for a lawyer on a phone. As a page goes from one second to five seconds to load, the chance they leave rises by 90 percent, according to Think with Google.

Inquiries slip through the cracks.

In a secret-shopper test for Clio's 2024 Legal Trends Report, 67 percent of firms never answered an emailed inquiry. Martindale-Avvo found 80 percent of people contact another lawyer after 48 hours of silence. Your form sends every inquiry straight to the inbox you choose, with what the client needs.

Clients ask AI before they ask you.

When Google shows an AI summary, people click a website about half as often, according to Pew Research Center. Your site is written so those answers can quote it, and name you.

You are not sure you own it.

Some providers keep your site on their system. Leave, and you start again from nothing. With us, the domain and the files are yours.

None of this should be your job.

Lawyers bill a small part of each working day, about two to three hours, according to Clio's research on solo firms. Fixing your website should not take any of the rest.

The same firm, before and after.

Drag the handle. On the left, the kind of homepage many small firms still have: built once, years ago, and left alone. On the right, the same practice rebuilt by us: the fee, the phone number and what the firm does, all on the first screen.

A note from Gaston

You are busy practicing law, so I will keep this short.

I live in Chicago, and I have studied the websites of 892 law firms in Cook County. The same problems come up again and again. Sites that are slow on a phone. Fees and attorneys that are years out of date. And when I ask who owns the site, the answer is usually a shrug.

Settled Sites is what we built to fix that. Mark designs and builds every site in his studio in England. I am here in Chicago, and I am the person you call. Between us, your website gets looked after, so you never have to think about it.

The first step costs you nothing: a plain report on your current site, then your new homepage to look at on your own phone. If you like it, we build the rest. If you do not, it cost you a phone call.

New closing fee

Hi Mark, our flat fee goes up to $900 for closings after January 1. Can you change it on the site?

Re: New closing fee

Done. The fees page and your homepage now say $900 for closings from 01/01/2027, and the old fee stays up until then.

Live on your site

After launch, your website stops being your problem.

Your fees, hours and attorneys are always right. Clients land on the page that answers their question. You never log in to anything. Here is what the monthly fee covers.

Every page, written for you

Home, practice areas, fees, bios, guides and contact. You approve every word.

Hosting, security, backups

Nothing for you to renew, update or patch. It is all handled for you.

Changes by email

Send a new fee, attorney or hours. It is usually live within one business day.

Articles without a login

Paste your text into a simple form. It comes back checked and published.

Found in local search

Your towns, courthouses and practices where Google looks, linked to your Business Profile.

Accessible to WCAG 2.2 AA

Tested with a keyboard and a screen reader on every page. No overlay widgets.

The Illinois rules, checked

No "specialist" claims, a responsible attorney named, disclaimers by results. You sign off.

Yours to keep

The domain stays in your name. If you leave, the site files go with you.

Everything that comes with your site

Designed around your firm, not picked from a catalog.

Every site is designed for the firm it belongs to, in your colors, your photographs and your words. What stays the same underneath is the structure that brings in clients. To show the range, here are two sample sites, each designed five different ways.

Built correctly for Google, local search and AI answers.

The part you never see, done properly on every site. It is what lets clients in your part of Illinois find you, on a map, in a search or in an AI answer.

A page for every service and place

Contract review, closings, wills, a DUI: each gets its own page, and so does each town or courthouse you really serve.

Structured data on every page

Your firm, attorneys, services, hours, area served and FAQs described in schema.org markup (LegalService, Attorney, FAQPage, BreadcrumbList).

Matched to your Google Business Profile

The same firm name, address and phone number on every page and on your profile, with the site linked to the right page.

Fast on a phone

Plain HTML, sized images and self-hosted fonts. We aim for a Lighthouse performance score of 95 or more on mobile, and measure every page.

Built for the phone first

Readable text, tap-to-call, short forms and nothing hidden behind menus a thumb cannot reach.

Every old page redirected

Every address on your old site gets a permanent (301) redirect to its new page at launch.

How every site is built for search

One monthly fee, what most firms choose

$299a month

Nothing up front. Month to month. Or, if you prefer to pay for the build, $1,500 once and $149 a month for the same site.

Close by, in Chicago and the counties around it.

Gaston lives in Chicago and can meet you at your office. Cook, DuPage, Lake and Will counties are home to more than 55,000 practicing lawyers. Elsewhere in Illinois, everything works by phone and video.

Questions you might have.

Do I own the website?

Yes. The domain stays registered to your firm, and if you leave, you take the site files with you. Another developer can host them as they are. Nothing is locked to our system.

Is it really a full website?

Yes. A small firm site is usually fifteen to twenty pages: home, a page for each practice area, fees, attorney bios, a few guides, contact and the legal pages. The closing attorney demo has nineteen.

Can I log in and edit it myself?

You can if you want to, but almost nobody does. You email the change and it is made. No password to lose, no editor to learn.

Do you do SEO?

Your site is built to be found locally from the first day, and that is included. Ongoing SEO campaigns and ads are separate, and only if you ask.

Will my site follow the attorney advertising rules?

It is built to a checklist based on Illinois Rules of Professional Conduct 7.1 to 7.4, and you approve every page before it goes live. We are web designers, not lawyers, so the final sign-off is yours.

Why is the studio in England?

Because that is where Mark lives and works. The six-hour difference works for you: a change you email at the end of your day is often done before you are back at your desk.
